It's Not Just About Ideas

Looking back over my time in EDlD 5313, I recognized that I engaged with the class to my fullest ability. I finished discussion posts, finished assignments and throughout the whole course, I collaborated with my classmates in a group me group. For the reasons that I give in this post, I give myself an 90 out of 100.

At this point in time, one of my strengths is getting my assignments done on time and even submitted early. I am constantly doing the work that I need to do and submitting them accordingly. The reason I gave myself that grade is because I have been a little late on submitting responses for a couple of my discussions posts because I have been pre occupied with work. I know that is not an excuse to give but I just wanted you to know that I am trying my hardest. I do feel however that when I remember to submit my discussions posts, I am making some great arguments and stating my opinions to the best of my ability. I notice that in most of my classes, the discussions posts are what I need to work on. I am doing my best to get those out when they are required and I usually post them at the beginning of the week so my other classmates can post responses. I attended two of the class meetings but I wasn’t able to attend the other ones due to college fairs that I had to go to but I made sure to watch the recordings afterwards.

I collaborated with many classmates in a group me that we all created and it was a pleasure working with Joseph Perrone, Nadia Flores, Whitney Davis and Khelia Olison Williams. I unfortunately do not have links to their portfolios but we did collaborate all year long and helped each other with assignments and gave emotional support when someone was panicking and needing some help. We gave each other positive feedback and helpful tips on the assignments and I can honestly say that I could not have done the assignments without their help and guidance. I did many assignments over the course of this class and I believe that I did very well to the best of my ability. With my first assignment, I created a post about the readings of a New Culture of Learning and how I interpreted it. It was a little hard at first to get back into the course with work but I was happy with the grade that I got. I would have liked a better grade but I am learning that the quality of my work and if I answered all of the prompts is what leads to my grade. My next assignment about creating my learning philosophy went well and I was able to express what my plans and desires were for my innovation plan and how it contributed to my learning. I am also happy with the grade I got on that. The assignment after that I had completed at the beginning of the course because I read the due date wrong and thought it was the first ever assignment of the course so I had it done way early which was a good thing because I am very busy right now with work. After I turned it in I got an amazing grade which I was extremely proud of. With my last three assignments I created the steps for my innovation plan and laid out how I am contributing with my learning environments and how it affects my online platform.

I need to improve on many things in this course starting with my discussion posts. I need to work on making better grades on my assignments and doing them early enough so I won’t be stressed when they are due. I feel like that I have collaborating with my classmates down to a T but I could still improve in that area. I will continue improving my portfolio and hopefully making it easy to navigate. Overall I am glad with the contributions that I made to my classmates and to my students.
