My perception of the Growth Mindset

My take on the “Not yet” is a powerful feeling that even though you are bad at something, there is always room for improvement and there are people out in the world who want to help you get there. Its not about taking on something alone and only succeeding with your knowledge and skills. Its about simply accepting help whenever you are stuck. I can say that when I was younger, I always wanted to do projects by myself because I was convinced that the project would only turn out good if I took charge and made sure everyone participated. Now I realize that it takes more than one person to accomplish a goal and that it is very hard to do something alone.

We are all focused on succeeding in the now, that we forget that not everything has to be accomplished at once. For example, in the current race for president, the key issue among voters is “Will the person we elect actually make our lives better and listen to what we want?” A lot of the issues in the US are not fixable overnight. We often believe it takes just one person to affect change in our country when it takes a whole group of people working together to achieve the same goal which is “What do the people want us to do?” The problem with politicians today is that they only want to achieve their personal goals and they do not want to work as a team to get to the same place.

I feel like adopting the Growth Mindset with the younger generation will benefit in the long run because they are being educated at a young age that there is always room for improvement and that they do not have to be the best at everything which in turn will help them in their future careers by not feeling the need to be awarded or praised every time they do something. If they feel appreciated doing the work they are expected to do and can take feedback without having a negative response, they can thrive in their environment and achieve high things.
