An ePortfolio is the purposeful aggression of digital items, ideas, evidence, reflections and more which presents a selected audience with evidence of a persons learning and/or ability as defined by Dr. Harapnuik in his ePortfolio.
I believe an ePortfolio enable us to take ownership of our beliefs and choices when we post about something that is important to us relating to our specific field. I am approaching my ePortfolio through an educational field and updating it as I learn and grow through the ADL program. I strongly believe that an ePortfolio will help me succeed in the ADL program because it gives me a place to share with others what I am learning throughout my time in the program. In order to succeed in the program besides the ePortfolio I need to see how the program has created ownership and choice through learning.
One of the ways to go about that is to understand the COVA Model that has been introduced into the ADL program. It first starts with authentic choice in how we choose things. If we choose an option between a few items, that does not give us a genuine choice. We need to come up with one ourselves so we can understand the deeper meaning of learning which is guided by discovering our potential. Next we need to understand the control and ownership that we have over what we learn and which projects we choose. Once we choose a project we need to voice our opinions and not be afraid to speak our mind. So often today when someone speaks their mind it gets criticized by others right away and they do not respect what we believe ourselves.
